Behind every great pack is a solid technical foundation. From materials to performance, we help you make sure your packaging works as well as it looks.

Quality, Built In

Quality at Richmond isn’t a checkpoint—it’s part of the architecture. From ISO 9001:2008 certification, issued by a UKAS-accredited body, to systems designed for traceability and continuous improvement, everything is built to support consistency and confidence.

We stay close to global developments in packaging and materials science, so the solutions we offer are always grounded in current thinking. That means fewer surprises later—and more assurance in the choices made today.

It’s a partnership built on precision, designed to help you move forward with clarity and assurance.

Laboratory & Testing

Our in-house lab supports the development process with practical tools for evaluating packaging performance and finish.

We carry out a range of assessments—from leak and pressure testing to closure torque checks and visual inspections under magnification. Our colour assessment chamber helps ensure consistency across production runs, and our packaging technologists are on hand to interpret results and offer guidance.

These capabilities are designed to complement your own testing protocols—not replace them. Full compatibility testing, especially with active or natural formulations, remains essential.

Think of our lab as a place to explore and refine—adding clarity at key decision points, without slowing momentum.

Compatibility

Packaging is more than just fit and finish, it’s about performance over time, under pressure, and in contact with real formulations. That’s why compatibility is a critical part of the process.

At Richmond, our packaging technologists work closely with production and commercial teams to assess how components interact, container and lid, pump and overcap, contents and seal. We provide technical insight and data to help guide selection, reduce risk, and support your internal validation process.

But compatibility isn’t a one-size-fits-all outcome. It depends on formulation, fill method, storage conditions, and more. That’s why we always recommend and support your own full compatibility testing typically over 12 weeks or longer. Especially when working with active or natural ingredients.

Our role is to help you ask the right questions early, so you can move forward with confidence, knowing the pack you choose is built for the realities it will face.

Compliance

From child resistance and food safety to hygiene protocols and clean-room packing, packaging compliance can be complex—and critical.

Our specialists stay close to evolving regulations and industry standards, offering impartial guidance to help you make informed, responsible choices. While we don’t offer legal or regulatory advice, we can help you navigate the landscape and ask the right questions—so you can move forward with confidence.
